Bowerbirds come to roost at Spanish Moon

Bowerbirds come to roost at Spanish Moon Image North Carolina's acoustic powerhouse Bowerbirds will play at the Spanish Moon on Monday, bringing their distinctive indie-folk sound with them. With strong lyrics and hook-heavy pop-folk melodies, this trio weaves a nest of sound as complex as the songbirds they take their name from. Their new CD, Upper Air, was released last year to some acclaim in the pickier indie circles, so don't miss this unique treat. 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 at spanishmoon.com. Three local acts at North Gate

Three cool home-grown acts will have you humming on your way home. For just $5 a pop it's not a bad night to get some new music stuck in your head. 10:30 p.m.
