High schoolers get 'Real Life Experience'

This week, the
Baton Rouge Gallery presents the annual Community Fund for the Arts Real-Life Experience Juried High School Exhibition, showcasing the work of over 100 high school students from all over EBR Parish. Inclusion in the show was highly competitive—and this year, there's an outdoor component as well, as several area high schools will construct outdoor sculptures that will be on display in the courtyard behind the gallery starting on Thursday. The show will run through April 10th. A free First Wednesday opening reception will be held on April 7th. (

Arts Market downtown this Saturday
It's the first Saturday of the month, and that means one thing for downtown shoppers: the Baton Rouge Arts Market. With over 70 artists from all over the south, displaying wares from pottery to paintings, glassworks to quilts, you're sure to spot something that your heart desires. The market takes place next door to the Red Stick Market, but if this Saturday is anything but gorgeous, it will be indoors in the Galvez Parking Garage at 500 Main St. 8 a.m. to noon. Free to the public.
Chamber music ends season on a high note
Join the BRSO Chamber Players as they bring the world's best chamber music to Baton Rouge. Thursday is the closing night of the series, so don't miss it as the players trill their way through works by Devienne and Debussy at the
Manship Theatre. 8 p.m. Tickets are $25.
