Boris blasts the Spanish Moon

Rising sun rockers Boris will bring the house down this Friday at the Spanish Moon. This genre-defying trio are almost unknown in their native Japan, but a spate of international attention in recent years have made them indie darlings on this side of the Pacific, highly-praised by notoriously fickle hit-seekers like Pitchfork, SPIN and Blender. Wielding double-necked axes and a heavy sound that ranges from melodic, psychedelic rock to noise-laden sludge metal, you'll never see another act like them. Supporting act, Chicagoan post-metal trio Russian Circles, will bring some structure to the night. Tickets are $15. 9 p.m. Visit thespanishmoon.com for more information.
