It’s an eating extravaganza as amateur chefs compete Iron Chef-style for the title of Golden Chef on the fourth-floor terrace of the Shaw Center. As Mayor Kip Holden emcees, the chef teams must use Community Coffee in their appetizer, entrée and dessert. The public gets to taste the items and vote by tipping their favorite chef with “community cash.” Music by Chris Shearman, a diamond jewelry raffle by Robert Roth Jewelers and a silent auction jazzes up the night. All the proceeds benefit the Baton Rouge Area Alcohol and Drug Center Inc., a nonprofit detox that provides beds for people from all socio-economic backgrounds who voluntarily seek help for their addiction. 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5. Tickets are $50 and available via
